As you may be aware, the state has embarked on a transformative journey with the One Washington ERP initiative, aimed at modernizing and streamlining our administrative functions across the state. This initiative integrates finance, procurement, budget, human resources, and payroll into the Workday enterprise resource planning system. More information can be found at One Washington.
The One WA program is currently leading the implementation of Phase 1A Financials. The Office of Financial Management (OFM) State HR is beginning readiness work to prepare for the transition to Phase 2 Workday Core Human Capital Management (HCM). Our first goal in our readiness plan is to provide end users with information about Workday Core HCM. To that end, you now have access to the new HCM Readiness Portal. Here’s how to log in:
Go to HR.WA.Gov and select “HCM Readiness Portal” from the menu.
When the blue and white screen with options appears:
If you’re inside the state firewall with SSO, select “Active Directory.”
If you’re outside the state firewall, select “SAW Account” and sign in using your work email address.
*Access to the HCM Readiness Portal is via the work email address only.
Moving forward, you will receive communications about readiness events and information critical to preparing the HR and Payroll communities for Phase 2 Core HCM. Our primary goal is to keep you informed.
Background
Who’s Impacted? All agencies currently using the centralized SAP-HRMS will transition to Workday Core HCM.
What is Core HCM? Workday Core HCM includes HR transactions, payroll, compensation, leave management, timekeeping, and reporting and analytics.
Why It Matters! This work is in preparation for the transition to Phase 2 of the One WA ERP, focusing on core HCM functionalities to establish a robust foundation. The One WA program will begin planning, discovery, and requirements for HCM in October 2025. State HR is starting readiness efforts now to prepare the HR and Payroll communities for when the Phase 2 official kicks off.
What Do I Need to Do? Engage by accessing resources to learn more about Workday Core HCM, participate in meetings and surveys, and provide critical feedback. Our greatest resource is you, the experienced end user who understands our business process and needs.
