HRMS has been updated to support the Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) newly adopted Roth option for Deferred Compensation Program (DCP). This Roth option is available to employees in accordance with EHB 1752. Identical to the current DCP process, employee Roth selections will process from DRS though a GAP file directly into HRMS. Though this option will be available to employees effective October 1, 2023, DRS anticipates HRMS will begin receiving Roth selections within the November 10th payroll file.
Roth will process in payroll through wage type 2252 - Roth and be reported on the W2 within box 12, along with DCP contributions. If an employee requires a manual PU19 adjustment for Roth, adjustments should be completed using Tax Group (TxGr) W2AA.
Employers who have additional questions regarding the Roth option should contact DRS Employer Support Services at 360-664-7200, option 2, or email DRS.
Employees interested in the Roth option should be directed to their DRS Online Account.
