In a communication sent on August 2, OFM notified agencies of a number of wage types that were not processing as intended. We asked that agencies continue to use the wage types until we completed an audit. During the audit, additional wage types were identified as problematic. We have itemized the fixes and provided information below on each of these wage types. All of the wage types below have been fixed in production to run correctly for period 16/2023, August 25, 2023 payroll.
Permissibility Issues
The following wage types were available for any agency to access but should have been limited/restricted to specific agencies:
1890 – AP REF 68 Instruc DT/FIRE – Should have been DFW Only
1891 – AP REF 69 Instruc Other – Should have been DFW Only
1925 – Specialty Team Premium – Should have been DOC Only
Outcome: All wage types have been moved to the correct tables to only allow them to be processed by the intended agencies. If your agency used one of these wage types incorrectly and should not have, replace the incorrect wage type with the correct wage type, then review if an under/overpayment has occurred.
Miscalculation Against Leave/Time Entries
The following wage types were not processing correctly if an employee had leave or specific time entries included in the period:
1044 – Shift Difference-all agys
1897 – AP Ref73 CVEO FTO
1937 – Supplement Shift Diff
Outcome: All wage types are now processing correctly on employees regardless of leave or time entries included in the period. Wage types 1044 and 1937 only impacted employees with wage types 1926 – 1928 in CATS. No further action is required.
Payroll Simulation Redlines
The use of the following wage types caused a redline for some employees when running a payroll simulation:
1132 – Recruit/Retention Incent
1933 - AP REF77A DSHS
1934 - AP REF77B DCYF
Outcome: Wage type 1132 can now be entered into Additional Payments as a negative number. Wage types 1933 and 1934 are no longer causing a redline when processing. No further action is required.
Incorrect Processing of Union Dues, Retirement, or both
The following wage types were incorrectly processing union dues, retirement, or a combination of both:
1897 – AP REF73 CVEO FTO
1901 – Covid19 Booster-No Due
1913 – Recruit/Ret Inc-No Union
1933 – AP REF77A DSHS
1934 – AP REF77B DCYF
Outcome: Wage type updates have been completed and each wage type is appropriately processing union dues, retirement, or both. OFM forced retro on a small number of employees with retirement impact within period 15/2023. No further action is required.
ALAS Errors
The following wage type was causing an ALAS error if there were multiple business areas involved within a period:
1132 – Recruit/Retention Incent
Outcome: This wage type is no longer causing ALAS errors. No further action is required.
Annual Salary Display in Basic Pay Screen
Most of the new 2023-2025 Legislative and CBA wage types for assignment pay entered into the Basic Pay (0008) infotype were not displaying correctly within the Annual Salary field.
Outcome: All wage types are now displaying correctly in the Annual Salary section within Basic Pay. The display issue had no processing impact on an employee’s actual pay and no further action is required.
Again, we would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused your HRMS processors and any impacted employees.
