SUI 1st Quarter 2024 Missing Standard Occupational Classification Codes
Agencies must assign the appropriate Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) to the positions identified on the spreadsheet provided below. Per the new law, SOC codes are mandatory and ESD can fine employers who submit reports with missing SOC codes.
Agencies should correct their missing SOC codes by Tuesday, April 23, 2024, by 8 p.m. Failure to provide requested SOC Codes may cause employer penalties.
What should I do?
Please add the SOC or correct the effective date of the SOC for each position listed for your agency in the attached file.
Click on the + to the left of your personnel area.
For each position listed for your personnel area:
Check to see if there is a SOC on the WC State, Code, Attribute (1613) infotype. A blank IT 1613 Effective Date on the Missing SOC Codes file is an indicator infotype 1613 has not been created or the SOC has not been assigned.
When adding the SOC, ensure the SOC effective date is the same as the position’s effective date within the reporting period.
If the position’s effective date is prior to 10/1/2022, set the SOC effective date to 10/1/2022.
Check to see if the SOC effective date on infotype 1613 is valid.
If the SOC effective date is after the quarterly reporting period, correct the SOC effective date to be the same as the position’s effective date within the reporting period.
If the position’s effective date is prior to 10/1/2022, set the SOC effective date to 10/1/2022.
HRMS Updates
The WC State, Code, Attribute user procedure is available in the HRMS Support Hub to create or maintain a position’s Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code on the WC State, Code, Attribute (1613) infotype.
Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) Reporting
Agencies can validate data using the Position Cost Distribution (ZHR_RPTFI1018) report. It includes the Standard Occupational Class (SOC) position coding found within the WC State Code Attribute screen within PO13. The Position Cost Distribution Report provides fields for:
SOC Code: numeric SOC code, and
SOC Text: SOC code title
A Statewide Variant (/SWV_SOC) was created to assist in pulling SOC data. The Cost Distribution Report user procedure on the HRMS Support Hub provides additional guidance.
