Military Service - Create New Record
Use this procedure to create new Military Service (0081) and Time Specification/Employ. Period (0552) infotypes.
If HRMS brought you to the Military Service (0081) infotype directly after saving the Additional Personal Data (0077) infotype, skip to Step 6.

Step 1
Enter transaction code PA30 in the command field and click the Enter button.

Step 2
Complete the following fields:
- Personnel no.

Click Enter to populate the employee information.

Step 4
On the Addtl. Personal Data tab, select the Military Service radio button.

Click the Create button.

Step 6
Complete the following fields:
- Start
- To
- Service type
TIPS:The Start date should be the start date of employee’s military service, and should match the employee’s Form DD214 or other appropriate documentation.
The To date should be the end date of the employee’s military service, and should match the employee’s Form DD214 or other appropriate documentation. If their service has not ended, then use 12/31/9999 as the end date.
If the employee has multiple time periods of military service, you will need to create Military Service (0081) and Time Specification/Employ. Period (IT0552) infotypes for each time frame.
For example, if an employee has prior and current military service or if an employee has multiple periods of prior military service, create a record for each period.

Click the Enter button to validate the information.

Click the Save button.
TIPS:This is a dynamic action. Once the Military Service (IT0081) infotype is saved, the Time Specification/Employ. Period (IT0552) infotype will appear.

Complete the Create Time Specification/Employ. Period (0552) infotype.

The following Imputable period fields are optional:
- Years
- Months
- Days
TIPS:The Start date should be the start date of employee’s military service, and should match the employee’s Form DD214 or other appropriate documentation.
The To date should be the end date of the employee’s military service, and should match the employee’s Form DD214 or other appropriate documentation. If their service has not ended, then use 12/31/9999 as the end date.
The Duration of validity period section and the Imputable Period section may not match:
- The Duration of validity period is system-calculated based on the infotype start and end dates entered.
- The Imputable period should be entered to show the actual days, months, and years recorded on the employee’s Form DD214.

Click the Enter button to validate the information.
